Description and Status

Arabian Canal is a 12,000 ha mixed-use development planned around a 75 km man-made fully navigable canal with bridges, marinas, islands and beaches. The project is planned to be built in the vicinity of Al Maktoum Airport and aims to be the new destination with the potential to change the landscape of Dubai. Once completed, the massive Jebel Ali land mass will be transformed to an island.

The project consists of mix of sustainable high-density urban centers with low-rise secluded developments. The project is on hold since 2009.
